ASH INTERVIEWS ASH FOR A MASCOT JOB

In our interview with David Raymond he mentions a bullet point list of questions to “profile” potential mascot candidates. I think it’s a great idea to gather fun information on as many full time and part time employees as possible. Simple questions can help you learn interesting personality traits and you won’t believe the hidden talents amongst your team. Once you have that information you can start brainstorming on how to use it. This does not need to be limited to your search for a great mascot.

Here are some questions that I have asked before answered by yours truly.

Do you play an instrument?:

Do I now, no, but I played the saxophone and piano ever so briefly as a child. I can’t read music and the only thing I remember is “Heart and Soul” on the piano. I’m also play an amazing Air Guitar.

Can you and do you sing?:

Not only do I have a horrible voice but I don’t know the words to any songs. Unfortunately for others I’ve done karaoke multiple times.

Can you dance?:

I love to dance and my high school cheerleading days led me to be the choreographer for the Reading Fightins drag team and inflatable mascots. Now I enjoy dance parties with my kids.

How would your friends describe you?:

Recently a friend, who knows I love the show “Friends” called me the Phoebe in our group. I don’t see it but I’ve decided to embrace the humor in that statement. I think it’s the blonde hair and bad singing.

Awards/ Recognitions that you have received?:

In High School I was voted “Most Spirited” and “Most Involved”. Professionally I received the “Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year” in 2006 and was on the first place team for “Minute to Win It” Challenges a few years back with the Fightin Phils. I have the trophy to prove it.

How do you feel about public speaking?

In a college course I was told that I was “nervous” because I talked with my hands a lot……..I’m comfortable with public speaking BUT I talk with my hands a lot. I call that enthusiasm…..or being Italian.

Special Skills / Talents? (ie: Juggle, whistle):

I can’t juggle or whistle but I can pick things up with my toes.

If you could spend a day with anyone famous who would it be?:

I want 3: The Phillie Phanatic, Vince Vaughn and Ellen Degeneres. Can you tell I like to laugh?

What is your favorite Holiday and why?:

Halloween. It’s a low pressure holiday and it’s fun to dress up and have fun.

Craziest Thing You Have Ever Done?:

I purchased a home that I toured using FaceTime. I’ve gone swimming in the ocean at night. Not crazy enough? I flew by myself with 3 kids all under the age of 4!?!?
